393. God Says, “Promised Land, Not Promised Continent!”

Q. I remember a news photo which pictured tanks rolling across the desert, and the dialogue bubble, coming from above, said: “Medammit, I said promised land, not promised continent!” What issue was this in?

A. That appeared in the December 1973 (“Self-Indulgence”) issue, in the News on the March section.

Can you provide a link to the actual graphic? I still remember laughing uproariously when I first saw it in 1973. It's appropriate now, in connection with Bibi Netanyahu's "Greater Israel" project. And yes, I'm both a Jew and a Zionist. It does not follow from these things that you think that Netanyahu doesn't belong in prison.
