Your Unauthorized Guide to the Golden Age of National Lampoon Magazine

262. Knights of the Mystic Assholes

December 7, 2010

Q: I have for over twenty years sought the ad for a once great club where one could only be inducted by another person rightfully named “Knights of the Mystic Assholes”. I am a member in good standing after all of these years and was inducted back in the late eighties by my friend but unfortunately my wall plaque and credentials were lost long ago making any acclaimation of membership to someone now draw little more than a blank stare and a change of subject.

A: It was a fake real ad in the June 1986 (Horror and Fantasy) issue.

Thanks for the info, though if it were fake I'd likely not have recieved my wall plaque and credientals from the money sent for them. Sure wish I had managed to hang on to them, it was quite the conversation piece. Whoever was responsable for it has my gratitude for a lifetime of laughs from it. Again, thanks! :D

Not fake? I just assumed it was part of the editorial portion of the magazine, and not a real ad. Redacted.

I have the original ad. Photocopied in the 80's
