256. “Suck-a-duck, the hard canard, tube-steak suppositories and foaming beef enema”

November 22, 2010

Q: I’m trying to remember in which issue there was an article about sex that referred to such things as; “Suck-a duck, the hard canard, tube-steak suppositories and foaming beef enema”, etc… I think it may have been late ’70s to early ’80s.

A: Carol suggests the “Travellers’ Aid” section of the August ’79 (Vacation!) issue. Seems close enough to me.

That's a toughie. I've no idea about "Suck-a-Duck" or "Hard Canard" (except Chris Miller's 'At The Movies' which features "The Fuck-a-Duck Newsreel"...) However, "tubesteak suppositories" and "foaming beef enema" are remedies (for constipation and a broken limb!)offered by Dr Makim Ben Dover, an anally-obsessed Turkish MD who appears in the 'Travellers' Aid' section of the August '79 (Vacation!) issue. He also offers "posterior meat injections" (for earache) and "high colonic bologna implants (for baldness)... need I go on?
