August 1998New material added to the Books & Anthologies section: There are now pages for The Breast of National Lampoon, The National Lampoon Songbook, and Letters from the Editors of National Lampoon. In a bizarre turn of events, J2 Communications (current owner of the National Lampoon empire) has signed a deal with the Fox Family Channel cable network (formerly Pat Robertson's Family Channel) to produce two made-for-TV movies, one of which, "Men In White," recently aired. Check it out. ***UPDATE*** Blanch Beube, whose email address was posted here last month, has sold the collection of NatLamps she found in her basement. ***CLARIFICATION*** Last month's item about the prognosis for future issues of National Lampoon requires a clarification: No further issues are planned at this time. That being the case, the 1997 Sexual Harassment issue may or may not have been the last issue. Only time will tell. Finally, thanks to everyone who has given me tips, leads, offers (and even issues), I now have completed my collection of early National Lampoons. This will be a great resource for this site and I will no longer need to apologize on the Intro page for the gaps in my collection. However, I recently realized I am missing one other item: the 1972 paperback anthology of political humor Would You Buy a Used War From This Man? If anyone knows where I can get a copy, let me know....
