264. “Alleged Assassin” Rodrigues Cartoon

Q: I am looking for a hilarious Charles Rodrigues cartoon. It shows a crazy guy with a gun shooting a judge in his courtroom point blank through the head with the caption: “Alleged assassin”. A spoof on journalists that is spot on!

A: It appeared in the August 1972 (Miracle of Democracy) issue. The article was called “Ass Ass In”. (Thanks again, Carol!)

The "Miracle of Democracy" issue (August 72) has a page of Rodrigues cartoons titled 'Ass Ass In'. One of them has a guy watching TV, seeing coverage of an assassination; even tho' the image clearly shows the killer in the act, a caption points him out as "alleged assassin".
